Angélica Flores

Angelica has always advocated for the local immigrant community, and this is reflected in many aspects of her life. She is the owner of Flores Professional Services and strives to make her accounting clients a high priority.
In 1998 when the downtown San Jose buildings were being retrofitted Angelica joined her husband, Jesus, and assisted more than seventy five downtown businesses at risk of displacement. This advocacy was successful and many businesses benefited from relocation assistance. Later in 1999, when many immigrant families needed assistance to benefit from Law 245i, which facilitated residency processes, Angelica provided low-cost immigration filing assistance and helped hundreds of families adjust their status. Furthermore, in 2004 Angelica also created and funded the program “Mujeres Exitosas'' (Successful Woman), in which she, along with a great group of volunteers, were able to assist underprivileged women with self- improvement workshops on education, building skills, domestic violence awareness, and self-confidence building.
One of Angelica’s defining moments came about in 2012 through the development of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and her contributions were highlighted by media partners such as Univision. Angelica's commitment and expertise allowed her to obtain what is believed to be the first DACA Work Permit in the State of California for a young adult client. Additionally, she significantly supported over a thousand DACA recipients.
Sandy Camacho

Sandy has been supporting San Jose’s local community since 1999. Sandy has always been very focused in helping women succeed. She has participated in many outreach and support programs such as “Back to School Backpacks Program” a program that supports low-income children and she has also been an integral part of “Mujeres Exitosas” (Successful Woman), a woman’s empowerment program.
Sandy currently works for the County of Santa Clara where she is an Eligibility Worker III whereby she works on assessment of eligibility for Public Programs for Low-Income Populations. Sandy is grounded in her values and service-oriented; her work for the County of Santa Clara has often been praised. She has a wide range of people’s skills and always strives for excellence.
Nancy Mendoza

OWNER OF NANCY'S INTERIORS
Nancy Mendoza is the owner of Nancy’s Interiors, a small interior design business in San Jose. Nancy loves working with people and very much enjoys her work because she truly gets to build great relationships that are long lasting. Her clients often are repeat clients because she is so attentive to detail. Her fun style and spirit shines through in her work. Her projects have included work for and, in support of, women-based organizations.
Her love of people and her community are reflected in her volunteer engagement with LBFSV; Nancy works to support struggling businesses in filling out grant applications as well as advocating for businesses at risk of displacement. Through her work and dedication, she has been able to collaborate on different programs offered such as Women in Power, Single Mother Entrepreneurs Initiative, and most recently in the “Save La Pulga” (Save the Flea market) effort.
Valeria Camacho

OWNER OF CLÍNICAS DE BELLEZA ARMANDO ROMO
Valeria Camacho has been a successful business owner since 2001. She is the current owner of Clinicas De Belleza Armando Romo. She inherited the business from her late uncle Armando Romo whom she was very close to. Valeria’s uncle Armando Romo was famously known for his avant-garde hair styles and makeup fashions. Valeria is inspired to continue the legacy of her late uncle.
She has continuously kept up with the business and the most current trends in the Beauty industry. Her involvement in the community has been of great impact. Valeria utilizes her business expertise and success to support her fellow immigrant women entrepreneurs. She has helped hundreds of people through her engagement with LBFSv and beyond with training and skill-building; many of them are now successful business owners themselves.The beauty industry is an accessible and popular entry point for immigrant women to achieve economic mobility, create community, and create community economic growth. The beauty industry is also the most represented in our entrepreneur community, especially for Latino communities. Camacho’s firsthand industry experience and presence on the Board help LBFSV be economic justice advocates that center the leadership of immigrant women entrepreneurs.
Jesús Flores
PRESIDENT & CEO
Jesus Flores is the Founder, President, and CEO of the Latino Business Foundation of Silicon Valley, an organization that supports over 2700 small businesses and entrepreneurs in Santa Clara County. As a nonprofit business support organization, the Latino Business Foundation offers technical assistance, training, small business education, and advocacy to small and microbusinesses in Silicon Valley.

For his unwavering leadership and advocacy on behalf of Local Family-Owned Businesses in Silicon Valley, Jesus has received several prestigious awards including Recognitions from the California State Senate, the California State Assembly. He was honored with the 2018 and 2022 Community Honoree awards by the City of San Jose. More recently in 2024, Jesus received a Commendation from the City of San Jose and was featured in the Silicon Valley Business Journal Power 100, which highlights the 100 most influential business leaders in the region, among numerous other accolades and recognitions.
When not working on advancing LBFSV’s work and being a community advocate, Jesus loves spending time with his active family, which includes his wife and six kids.
